## ADDED Requirements

### Requirement: Child home deck shell
The iPad app SHALL present a child home surface aligned with `studydeck-ios/ui/ui03-deck.png`: brand header, an upper horizontal course shelf, and a lower recent-learning row. Primary navigation MUST NOT expose Explorer, Album editing, or multi-select lesson composition.

#### Scenario: Launch lands on home deck
- **WHEN** the user opens the app with no active full-screen study takeover required
- **THEN** the home deck is shown as the default surface

### Requirement: Upper shelf shows only downloaded courses
The upper shelf SHALL list only courses that exist in local downloaded storage. The shelf MUST support horizontal scrolling without a persistent scrollbar. The shelf MUST NOT show remote-only or not-yet-downloaded placeholders.

#### Scenario: Empty shelf
- **WHEN** no local courses are installed
- **THEN** the upper shelf shows an empty state that guides the user to add/download courses

#### Scenario: Downloaded courses appear
- **WHEN** one or more local courses exist
- **THEN** each appears as a tappable tile on the upper shelf (default artwork allowed when cover is absent)

### Requirement: Start study from shelf
Tapping a downloaded course on the upper shelf SHALL start or resume learning for that course and MUST record the course as the most recent learning entry.

#### Scenario: Tap moves course to recent
- **WHEN** the user taps a downloaded course tile
- **THEN** study opens for that course AND the course becomes the first item in the recent-learning list

### Requirement: Recent learning row
The lower area SHALL show recent learning entries in recency order, with approximately two large cards visible by default and horizontal scrolling to reveal older entries. Tapping a recent card SHALL open study for that entry (resume when progress exists).

#### Scenario: Two cards visible
- **WHEN** at least two recent entries exist
- **THEN** the lower row presents large cards suitable for child tap targets and allows scrolling to older entries

#### Scenario: Resume from recent
- **WHEN** the user taps play on a recent entry that has saved progress
- **THEN** study opens restoring that progress

### Requirement: Menu access to download
The home deck SHALL provide a menu (or equivalent) entry to open the download/browse flow for adding courses from the PC publish server.

#### Scenario: Open add courses
- **WHEN** the user opens the menu action for adding courses
- **THEN** the download browser surface is shown
